"Thou dost keep him in perfect
peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusts in Thee."
Isaiah 26:3
If this bulletin ever reaches you it may
be a miracle of mini proportions. Living on top of a small mountain
has it's glories and it's woes. Ice storms are part of the latter.
Tomorrow we may or may not make it in to work. So unless I find
a way to fax this very important document or get the local pigeon
population to air drop this newsletter to JK's you may never
see it. The slopes here on Sassafrass Trail are almost as good
as Perfect North, fast and slippery.
We had a few handsome guests, Scot Becker
and George Clapper.
Bill gave a report on Father Putnick, who
passed away last week. His last few days were very painful. A
suggestion, any remembrance that you might like to give in Father's
name could be donated to Franciscan West Park. He lived and performed
the duties as resident pastoral minister. Is that the correct
tile? I thought it sounded pretty good.
We missed a few of our members who are
under the weather such as Tina, Gene Simpkins and Jane. Hope
you are all feeling better and back with us next Tuesday.
We had a few birthdays: Tina, Tom Reuter,
Ed, Gil and Dick Mather. You are all invited to a big birthday
party next Tuesday featuring ice cream and cake. Congratulations
to all of you on celebrating another year of life.
Two of Xavier's Circle K members were present
to announce an upcoming charitable event. They are holding a
spaghetti dinner at Holy Trinity Church in Norwood from 5:00
to 8:00 PM. Mama Mia how embarrassing I wrote everything down
but the date. A quick call later and I have the info. It's Saturday
the 16th of January.
Speaking of the quick call, I heard the
board meeting was cancelled because of inclement weather. It
sounds like a women's thing. Oh well, that's what you get when
you vote in a woman president.
Gil is asking for quality people who would
be interested in running for office for next years Kiwanis board.
If you are even thinking about it call Gil or Frank and let them
smooze you right into a board seat. When you think about it,
those two are definitely the kings of smooze.
Tom White announced he will be participating
in a sacred concert at Music Hall on March 14th. There will be
60 musicians and 150 singers praising God in the Highest. The
proceeds will benefit three Over the Rhine community projects.
Ed Flick presented Gil a photo album of
the people and events that took place during his presidency 1998-99.
Steve Dreyhaus is our speaker for next
week. He is speaking on the 1000 Hands project. Tom Reiring is
also asking for anyone who may be interested in in being on the
Advisory board at Dunham.
Our speaker of the week was a very dynamic
lady from Cincinnati Bell, Ms. Patricia Reedy.
Till next time Lois L. Lane
