PRICE HILL / WESTERN HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN - February 8, 2000

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

President Tony Proffitt, after the usual opening ceremonies and invocation by Tom Riggs introduced today's guests.

Wes Reynolds and Chuck Cole from Fifth Third Bank and Ronda Huber from Mercy Systems - West (or whatever name they are using this week).

The sick list information is both good and bad. Cliff Franklin should be home by the time you read this and Gene Simpkins is improving and hopes to return soon. No word on Dan Kipp, that means he must be improving. Judy Jennison is receiving treatment for her back problems. Jim Cupito is still at Hospice in Blue Ash. Janis wished to thank the many members for their visits with Jim, but visitation is limited to just family for now. Cards, notes and prayers are appreciated and welcome.

President Tony read thank you notes from Cliff Franklin and the food pantry Manna.

Sheriff Gary Becker found two members guilty of "No Name Tag" and fined each twenty five cents. Save the embarrassment and wear your name tag.

Tonight a group of Kiwanians will break bread and probably chicken at Ron's Roost. This is the annual "Fat Tuesday" supper started a few years ago by Jim Cupito. Jim can not attend, but will be with us in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks goes to Dan Finke for substituting for Jim in making the arrangements.

Tom White said there were no birthdays to celebrate, but without the help of our song books and with the help of Charlene Bosken we managed to sing "Smile".

The split the pot winner was, Joann Kahle.

Poul Lemasters was accepted into the Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. An undertaker with a law degree, what can we make out of that? How about - If it's fatal call Radel; If it's law, call Poul.

Past Presidents take note - the elections are approaching and we need to nominate members for president and directors. A nomination meeting will be held at Past President Joyce Schroeder's home on Tuesday February 22 at 7:30 PM. As Past President you have an obligation to attend.

Note to Members - You have an obligation to seek the Office of President or at the very least run for Director. A Director needs to attend most of the Business meetings and make intelligent decisions, this means all members qualify.

In the absence of Program VP II Paul Hogue VP I Frank St. Charles introduced Mark Jorgensen, who introduced, Stephanie Harris and Dr. David Edelman. Dr. Edelman is Professor and Director of the University of Cincinnati, School of Planning. After an introduction to Planning 101 and information about UC and its future, Dr. Edelman answered many questions from the members. Thanks again to Paul Hogue for another interesting program.
