Being confident of this, that He who
began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until
the day of Christ Jesus. Phil. 1:6
The Video Elf, the suppose to be writer,
was out video-ing and I drew the short straw. President Tony
Proffitt started the meeting in the usual manner with the song,
pledge and prayer by Greg Hartlaub. Greg asked that we pray for
all our sick members and to include his wife Rita, who has Alzheimer's
and Harry Maly, a past member.
Cliff Franklin is improving, but is not
ready to join us on Tuesday just yet. He still receiving therapy.
Gene Simpkins is still bothered by the pain from his bout with

We received a very nice thank you note
from Janis Cupito, praising us for our assistance in Jim's time
of need. We are not the ones to be praised. It is Jim that deserves
the praise. Many of our Kiwanians have no idea what a contribution
Jim made to this organization in the past twenty five years.
That is because Jim freely gave to Kiwanis something we all cherish
more than money. Time! If there was a Kiwanis event, be it work
or fun, Jim was there. Nobody was more faithful. Although we
miss him already, it will take years before we fully realize
how much we really miss Jim.
Interclub Chairman Lou Schroeder announced
several upcoming Interclub events. On Wednesday March 8, we will
visit the Riverfront Club and on Saturday March 25 we visit the
Greenhills-Forest Park. Lou mentioned we should volunteer, as
a group, to answer phones at the WCET Action Auction. It is both
a fun and interesting task.
The singing was limited because President
Tony had the honor of leading us in song with Tom White on the
piano. We sang the birthday song to Sandy Flick (Ed thanked us
for the reminded) and Estelle Ruehl, ages with held by request.
The Kiwanis Lenten Prayer Breakfast at
the Twin Towers will begin soon. Our Club will be the sponsor
on April 12. Lt. Scott Harvey and Tom White will provide the
services.
Greg Hartlaub brought to our attention
the interesting articles in the latest edition of the Kiwanis
Magazine. If you did not receive a copy you need to contact me
to be sure your mailing address is up-to-date.

Paul Hogue introduced Paul Ashworth as
our guest speaker. Mr. Ashworth, who is very interested in history,
showed "now and then" pictures of the "battle
of the bulge" area in Normandy. He showed pictures of the
area during the war and pictures of the same places at the present
time. There are many memorials to honor the American soldiers
who gave their lives there. Thank you Paul for another interesting
and enjoyable program.
