The multi-talented and delightful Estelle
Ruehl gave the Lenten prayer for the week. Speaking about all
things holy and sacred, do you know how you get holy water? You
boil the hell out of it.
Young and old guests attended our meeting.
In the under five category, Caroline was the guest of her grandparents
Tom and Jane. Of course, we had our little guy, JoAnn's grandson.
Over five and not counting was Brian Sweeney, Nancy Ziegler and
Sherrie Reuter.
Now listen closely, we want to know if
any of our members past or present have bought the ranch, kicked
the bucket, are pushing up daises or just plain croaked. If none
of the above applies to you, then you are expected to attend
the memorial services at St. Simon's Church on Monday, May 1st
at 7:00 p.m. The Revs. Ernie Bieglow and Mike Beatty will preside
over the ceremony. If your name appears on the list of the deceased
this is a legitimate excuse and we know you will be with us in
spirit!!!!! All kidding aside, this is an important event. Showing
our respect to the families and especially to the widows of our
deceased members. We want to make a good showing. So plan to
attend.
The RBB is seriously behind in tickets
being sold. Twenty-one of our members have yet to take any tickets.
The Early Bird Drawing is next week. Get your tickets in and
try to win back your $100. Corporate sponsors are desperately
needed. Denise and Ron Grause are the latest corporate sponsors
to sign up. All corporate activity needs to be in by the end
of the month in order to get their names in print.
Joyce is calling for Silent Auction items.
It's getting late and we need to get in gear. One of our members,
Terry Johnson from Enterprise Travel Agency donated two Delta
Airline Tickets to anywhere in the United States. He has been
very generous to our PHWHK and if you have any travel plans give
Terry a call and maybe he can help you with that dream vacation
you have thought about for so long.
Biggie had a good idea. If you have any
frequent flyer miles accumulated, you may like to donate them
to the Silent Auction.
Jane Reuter is calling her Membership Committee
together for a meeting on Wednesday, April 19th at high Noon.
The place, Ron's Roost. Everyone agrees this is the hot spot
for lunch. It is important for the committee to gain membership.
Since 1995 loss of members has caused 960,000 hours of national
service to the community to be gone forever. Did I say that right?????
Well glory be, I suppose it's that time
of the year again. Elections. The far right (Blue Ticket) accused
the far left (Gold Ticket) of dirty politics. The conservatives
and the liberals are on an intense mud in your face campaign.
The hot issues are "gum control" and "champagne
reform." Ed Flick intro his Blue Ticket; Dan Finke, Ed Willig,
Paul Klatte and Jane Babydoll Reuter. Next week the Gold Ticket
will get their chance to repute.
Two birthdays for the week are Fred Morr
and Tony Profitt.
Our speaker for the week was Dwight Young
from Bloc Ministries who helps the youth of high school and their
families get their lives back on track.
Next week guest will be Buddy La Rosa -
The King of Pizza. I wonder if he will bring us any samples.
If not, maybe he will let us in on his mom's secret recipe for
sauce.
Here's one for the season: Do you know
how to catch a unique rabbit?
Unique up on it.
Do you know how to catch a tame rabbit?
Tame Way, Unique up on it.
Well excuse me, just trying to add some
enjoyment to your life.
Till next time......... Lois L. Lane
