"Man looks on the outward appearance,
but the Lord looks on the heart." I Sam. 16:76
After a hearty
helping of sandwiches et.al. Tony Proffitt called the meeting
to order with a deft ring-a-ding ding of the Big K bell. We sang
and Tommy White led us in prayer. Now, on to business!
Tom Reuter
introduced a guest, Jack Arkel, a new prospective member and
accountant by profession. Don Bearghman introduced Greg Hockenberry
Asst. Prin. Oyler. This is second visit and he would like to
become a member. Tom Reuter reported on Bill Stautberg. Bill
has had a pacemaker installed as his condition now warrants it.
Bill said the amazing thing, as Tom reports, is that after the
doctor surgically installed the device an electronics person
was called in to program it. Now after the installation Bill
doesn't call the Dr. for service but rather the electronics Co.
that produces the pacemaker. To maintain the proper program
all Bill needs to do is call the Co place the receiver to the
pacemaker's location and the technician monitors and adjusts
the pacemaker over the phone! Wow! That's what I call high tech.
At any rate Bill said the moment he got out of recovery he felt
much better.
Estelle Ruehl
reports that Esther Kipp broke her arm in a mishap. Someone
then blamed it on Dan saying it was Dan Kipp's fault. Why asks
Tony? Well if Esther hadn't been hitting Dan she wouldn't have
broken her arm! Yeah Right Get better fast Esther.
Next Tuesday
the 4th of July we will not meet. But next Tuesday is as usual.
Tony also said we have rollin' on the river car show tickets
from Riverview Kiwanis they are $1.00 each or 5 for $7.00. This
is there fundraiser so lets support them as they do us.
Also Tony
has announced a social gathering for members on Thursday evening
July 20th at 7pm in the Crows Nest. Just a get together no business
so lets try to be there.
Tom Bruening
said that he didn't go in places like the Crow's Nest, wherein
someone commented, . . . "Of Course Not, after throwing
him out they won't let him back in!!" At this point we
all laughed at Tom's expense. TeeHee.
Glad Hands
went to Walt Luthy, Dick Mather, and Jim Schwartz got a semi
Rolex. Split the pot went Dick Mather a double winner today.
When your hot your hot!!
Walt Luthy,
that's me, led us in song. Smile is the thing.
Paul Hogue
was then introduced to explain why we have no guest this week.
Tom Brown reported that Walt Mayer's wife nearly drowned and
so regretfully Walt M was unable to attend today. We are trying
to reschedule in the next couple of weeks. Our prayers and thoughts
for a speedy recovery go out to Walt his wife and family.
We then closed
the meeting with song accompanied by the incomparable Tom White
with each and everyone going their way to an afternoon of new
experience and fulfillment. (Boy I just had to. I'm feeling a
little hokey so there!)
Thanks for
reading this and until next we meet I remain truly your bulletin
writer.
