PRICE HILL / WESTERN HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN - July 18, 2000

President Tony called the meeting before a very sparse crowd. Where have all our members gone?

Our only guest was Susan Brenner from Oakdale Elementary School. Susan teaches a class of multi-handicapped children, and she explained to us the features and advantages of a horse-riding program for those children. Her program had previously been presented to our Board, and Susan received a check for $2,000.00 from our Club toward the costs, plus a personal check from a member who is anonymous at this time. More donations would be greatly appreciated. Checks should be made out to The Oak Hills Local School District, for the horse-riding program.

Tina won the Split-the-Pot $17.00. Gene Simpkins presented his weekly dozen of the largest brown eggs in the area to Jo Ann Kahle. Our program was aborted because the speaker failed to appear.

NOTE: TO ALL MEMBERS.

Please make a special effort to attend our luncheon meeting on August 1. We will be discussing several ways in which we can be more involved in community volunteer activities. Your input will be appreciated.

Also our Board has expended the funds to enable four golfers to play in The Pregnancy Center West Golf Outing at Shaker Run on September 22, four to play in the Santa Maria Golf Outing at Hidden Valley on August 28, and eight tickets to the performance at the Syndicate on August 8 for the benefit of the Friends of Oyler Foundation.

We will be conducting a lottery for those who are interested in these free activities - - - - - but you must be present on August 1 to take part in the lottery.

We sang Happy Birthday to Terry Johnson (absent), Joe Fettig (absent), Ed Willig (singing for himself) and Cliff Franklin who just turned 80. Congratulations to all!

Please don't be too critical of this Bulletin - it's my first time, and it was me or no Bulletin!

Where have all the Bulletin writers gone?
