PRICE HILL / WESTERN HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN - August 22, 2000

"Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, My King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray." Psalms 5:1-2

"The show must go on."

Even without the help of a piano, our meeting was able to go on. Our usual song and pledge, all be it a little off key, was sang and said and Greg Hartlaub gave the invocation.

Mr. President Tony introduced our guests. 2nd VP Paul Houge brought his mother Mary Ann Houge and his Aunt Elleen. Dan Kipp reported feeling well and Tom Reuter came with a hurt arm. Fr. Jim Willig is now at home. With the help the entire family, all is being taking care of with the help of incredible support of family members.

We received a Thank You from the Holy Family Pantry.

Our meeting in which we had several people sign up for various community activities seem to produce quite a stir with the Meals on Wheels program. Carol Espalage will contact those who signed up with times.

With no other announcements, Glad Hand prizes where given to Ed Flick and Gary Backer. Tomatoes were thrown at Ron Larkin, Tina McGary and Dan Kipp. Carl Somer won split the pot.

Then the fun began. Walt Luthy volunteered to lead us in singing, this happened before he knew Tom White was not their. Walt in good spirit, lead us with out a hitch. We only sang smile, but Walt sounded great, as for the rest of us... hurry back Tommy!

Our speaker was Rita Heikenfeld. She is the author of the soon to be released book titled: "The Official Snack Guide for Beleaguered Sports Parents". Rita is also the cook at Lazarus on Thursdays thru Saturdays from 11am - 2 pm. You can also find her on Channel 9 as the weekend Chef. Rita had a table full of Herbs, which after the meeting, we all smelled a little better. Rita said she would give Paul a receipts for the club. Ask Paul if interested.

-- Please remember, the September Board Meeting Held on September 13th, will be held at the home of Don Blum in Aston Oaks.

-That is all for this week,
