PRICE HILL / WESTERN HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN - September 26, 2000

.....you shall love the lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. Mark 12:30

The meeting started with the usual opening ceremonies and the invocation by Wally Flender. President Tony Proffitt, presiding over the last meeting of this Kiwanis year, ask if there were any guests. Guy Langenbrunner, attending his fall quarterly meeting, introduced his friend Doug Kohls. Since Doug is in the lawn service business, maybe when Guy makes the spring quarterly meeting, he will invite Doug back. If you think I'm picking on Guy, your right and he would be disappointed if I didn't.

The temperature must have dropped below 60 degrees our good buddy and honorary part time member Earl Oakes and his lovely wife Mary Ann are heading for Florida. We thank you for camaraderie and will look forward to seeing you again in the spring.

Frank St Charles's asked us to remember his father in our prayers. We don't know the details, but Mr. St Charles is undergo dialyses treatments. Tina McGary is taking a year off from Kiwanis because of her health. Tina said she will stay in contact with the Club.

Lost and Found - Tom Reuter is missing a pair of eye glasses. If you find them or know the whereabouts please contact Tom. A substantial reward will be offered.

Greg Hartlaub is looking for some members to help at the Holy Family Food Pantry. They need someone with a van or truck to pick up supplies. It only takes a couple of hours. Contact Greg if you can help.

It seems a long way off but the Elder - West Hi MVP Awards lunch is on November 21st. Rod Huber, football coach at Mt. St Joseph College, will present the awards.

The Oakdale School for Horse Riding Lessons for Multi-handicapped Children sent a thank you note including a picture of the kids riding the horses.

David Wecker of the Cincinnati Post wrote a follow-up article about how the Price Hill Western Hills Kiwanis helped Margaret Fritz get a desperately needed new reliable van for the St. Michael Center. Gary Becker thought Dan Kipp wrote the piece because his name was mentioned so often.

Lou Schroeder has Meals-on-Wheels signs to place in your auto window when delivering the meals.

Greg Hartlaub won the Gene Simpkins "Good Egg Award" for being a dedicated Kiwanian.

John Nordmeyer won the Split the Pot, again!

Tom White is back at the piano and Walt Luthy is back to leading us in singing
(using the word loosely). It would help if we all sang the same song. Well at least we try!

Notice: All members should have received the statement for the 2000/2001 Kiwanis dues. Payment is (was) due by September 30th. Please notify the Club secretary if you are not going to continue your membership, tel. 513-451-3167.
