PRICE HILL / WESTERN HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN - December 12, 2000

The meeting was called to order by Frank St Charles and opened with God Bless America and the Pledge to the Flag followed by an advent reading by Estelle Ruehl from a card sent to Estelle by her daughter.

Frank announced a short meeting today as there would be a board meeting following the regular meeting instead of a program.

Guests we have Earl Oakes a rare winter visitor as he mostly spends his winters in Florida but his better half wanted to spend some time with the grand kids so here they are. I believe Earl said it was the youngest's birthday. I hope I got that right Earl.

Sick list finds Tim Hornsby's sister recovering from a kidney transplant. Also his cousin, the donor, went home in good shape last Sunday. Greg Hartlaub reported that on his return home from a visit to the ice cream parlor found his wife in the hospital as a result of a seizure. After a full check the hospital reports that it most likely is a result of the progression of Alzheimer's Disease as nothing else could be found as the cause. John Nordmeyer reported Fr Willig walking with a cane and celebrating a funeral mass with other Priests for Jack Torbeck. Frank St. Charles reports his father is doing well with dialysis.

Tom Reuter reported on the status of the toy wrap to occur on Thursday. Ed Flick has agreed to give the toys a home, as we need to move them from Stegner's. Tom Riggs has provided a truck for transportation of the toys with Kevin Kahny providing the Van to Oyler on Friday for the kids' party.

The Twelve days of Christmas will be undertaken on the 18th by Walt Luthy. Day after Christmas Ray Bradshaw Co. Engineer will be the program.

John Nordmeyer then choked his way thru the announcement that we collected $503.63 last weekend. And it is rumored that a matching gift is in the offing for the collections. John also announced that those of you missing the meetings have missed not only a good lunch but glad hand prizes of $150 and $200 over the past three weeks. This week we had nine glad hands.

Split the pot was $25. The Tom Reiring and Walt Luthy led us in song. A birthday greeting to Jane Reuter then Joy to the World for Christmas and a close of Smile.

With that we closed the meeting with song.

See you on Tuesday next.

Walt Luthy

PS, when someone says they didn't get the bulletin on time its Walt's fault cause he didn't write it on time.
