PRICE HILL / WESTERN HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN - January 30, 2001

Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear and your soul shall live. Isaiah 55:3

President Frank St Charles opened the meeting with the song, pledge and invocation by Tom White.

The sick list was short, hopefully because no one is sick, no report on Fr. Jim. Tom Reuter had good news, his last check-up was A-OK. Keep your prayers flowing there is still a need.

I know this is like saying, "Raise your hand if your not here". If you are not receiving the weekly Bulletin by mail, fax or email, please contact Kevin Kahny, 251-2911. Note to Bulletin writers: Dead line for the Bulletin information is noon on Thursday.

Immediate Past President Tony Proffitt has requested a leave from his Kiwanis duties, primarily the Kiwanis elections this spring, because of personal business obligations. Gary "ACE" Becker has volunteered to take over this responsibility.

Saturday six officers/directors, Frank St Charles, Paul Hogue, Carol Sohmer, Jane Reuter, Tom Reuter and Earl Ostertag attended a seminar on "Achieving Club Excellence". Your Club leaders take their responsibilities serious. We thank these members for caring about improving our Club.

Tom White, our resident musician, will once again participate in the "Sounds of Hope Concert" 7 PM on Sunday March 4, 2001 at Music Hall. Tickets are from $12 to $24 and the proceeds go to charity. Although Tom is the top billing, for the benefit of the few persons unaware of maestro White, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, 130 voice all-city choir and many others were invited to perform also. For a sample of last years concert listen to WTSJ 1050 AM radio at 2 PM Sunday February 11, 2001.

The International Kiwanis IDD program is still alive and well. You can help by finding a home for an IDD collection can, contact L Schroeder.

Darts and Flowers: Flowers to L Schroeder for comforting a sick friend in need.

A meeting of the Rose Bloom Boom Committee will be held on Tuesday February 6th at 7:30 PM. The meeting will be at the Rinear home. All Club members are invited. Now is the time to make comments.

Carol Sohmer introduced Kelly Allen and Mary Rose Geckle from the Hamilton County Community Health Board. They explained the Board's mission ... to develop and manage a system of quality mental health services responsive to individual and family needs and differences.
