PRICE HILL / WESTERN HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN - April 24, 2001

Paul Hogue called the meeting to order as Frank and a number of members were at the Riverfront Kiwanis for an interclub. Bob Huggins was the guest speaker so all were looking forward to a good meeting. Paul did his usual admirable job in leading us, however in the absence of Tom White the opening song lead by yours truly, truly went south for the winter. It was suggested that in future I provide a recording that can lead us in song.

Steve Newsome gave the invocation. It was great to see Steve here after what must have been a hectic Tax season. Welcome back Steve!

Tom Reuter announced that Georgette Faigle was finally getting a new hip and that a friend and fellow appraiser Roger Trauth son of our Lee Trauth, has advanced liver cancer. Tom asks that we keep them in our prayers.

Guests were John Torbeck owner of Western Sports Mall and our host. Paul then advised there was no speaker for this meeting so we went right to information from the members.

Gary Becker announced the new directors for the coming year. They are: Sandy Flick, Tim Hornsby, and Estelle Ruehl as Directors and Walt Luthy as Second Vice President. Jane Reuter, John Nordmeyer Scott Becker and Ron Forte' still on for next year.

Student recognition luncheon will be held next Tuesday at WUNDERKIND on Colerain Ave. Call Tom Reiring is you would like to attend. We need representation from the club.

Paul then thanked Gary Becker for setting up the head table for him.

Dan Kipp rose to say Mother Load and Bonanza doing well. Tomato Plants doing well. He will have until June 15th on the 16th they are gone.

Lou Schroeder came up with two new Corp Sponsors we now have 14 paid sponsors. Lou also announced the Kiwanis sign was completed and Mr. Torbeck gave his permission to place on the property.

Gary Becker asked for items for Silent Auction. If you have the ability perhaps a donation will let us buy some items or perhaps a bottle of wine donated will let us make up some baskets of goodies that can be put in the silent auction.

Sandy Flick announced sales of RBB tickets 147 to date 181 turned in and Paul got the rose for excellence this week. Next Tuesday May 1st at 7pm at Bob Rinear's home will be the last RBB meeting. The committee and all others are welcome. Be prepared to let Bob Know who is doing what and who you need to do what. Also all members please try to sell 2 tickets this year. Remember Bigger and Better in 2001. We have three weeks left so lets go.

Karen Kahny announced she Estelle and John Elias are taking reservations for Rose Bloom Boom. Let her know who and how many.
