Invocation by the Prestigious Earl "The Pearl" Ostertag

Sick List
Father Jim Willig needs our prayers. Time is short. Thank you to all who have been praying.
Tom Reuter will need to go back to the Cleveland Clinic for a needle Biopsy. The past results were inconclusive.
Former Kiwanian Don Blum was impaled in the chest and is recuperating.
Announcements
Frank St. Charles had his car broken into. His briefcase was taken which included the Kiwanis outline sheets, the combination to the closet, and the minutes for the next board meeting.
Board Meeting tomorrow (Wednesday, 6-20-01, 8pm at West Park).
Paul Master requested our participation in a Golf Outing. Cost is $60.00 it includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is a fundraiser for Hemo-phelia. Karen Kahny mentioned that there will be a Health fair at the Delhi Senior Center on June 28, 2001 from 9am -12pm. This will include free health services, food and door prizes.
Capt. Scott See had his guest Chaz Barter make an announcement concerning the Adopt-A-Child program for their daycamp. The daycamp has various campers who cannot afford the $25.00 weekly fee for the six weeks of daycamp. She wanted Kiwanians to know that they can have the opportunity to sponsor a camper for the summer. If interested contact Chaz Barter at 251-1424.
John Nordmeyer made an announcement concerning the Adopt-a-Kettle program. Kiwanis has requested to Man the kettle at Kroger Ferguson on June 13, 14, 20, and 21. If interested contact Dan Kipp (or John, but preferably Dan as John won't be around.)
Today's guest was Jim Lithenberg from the Cincinnati Enquirer. He has been at the Enquirer since 1971. The best places to go for news are Restaurants, Bars and Benefits. The upper crust types love to talk about everyone else. The Best people to get news from are Advertising Executives, Restaurant Servers, Political Aids, and Artsy people. He basically hangs around and talks to people - then blabs the info around town. His presentation was comical and informational. The majority of his time is not writing, as is the common misconception. The majority of his time is spent double-checking the news.
Till next week dear Kiwanians.
In Christ's Service,
Scott R. See, Captain
Guest speaker: Jim Lithenberg
