It was a mini meeting so therefore, the results will be a mini Newsletter. So there !!! I guess everyone was in Indiana buying fireworks for the 4th.
We had a small crowd, just the important people were in attendance. Dan won Split the Pot. I guess he will spend it on more flowers. We are having a contest. He says whoever has the most flowers wins.
Here is a challenge for all new and some of our youthful members. PHWHK has a need to recruit volunteers to man the Salvation Army Kettles for a "Christmas in July" fundraiser. The dates planned for this event are Friday - July 13 and Saturday, July the 14th, Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st. To add a little spice to the pot (Ha Ha - Get it?) We the westsiders are going to try to outdo what the eastsiders did last year. Call John at 922-5563 or Dan at 353-3281. If you haven't done much to fulfill your membership pledge to work for the community this may be the time to step up. Come on try it. It's fun.
Thank yous came from Holy Family and the Woman's Connection.
Tom Reuter thanked everyone for the great honor bestowed on him. The Hixson was given to him for the many years of service to PHWHK, especially for the Christmas Party at Oyler, Food Boxes he prepared, organized and delivered. Tom also recognized Jim Cupito and Ed Flick for their support in this event. Tom thanks all who helped throughout the years, which are way too many to list.
Tom and Jane had some news on Tom's recent needle bio. The cancer has returned and more surgery is needed. He will return to Cleveland on July 11th for Pre Opt and then surgery on July 16th. I think Tom knows that we are all here for any support that we can offer, spiritual or physical. We love you Tom and our hearts will be with you and Jane in Cleveland.
Our money man, Ed Flick, reported that we made $29,000 on the RBB. The amount was the same as last year.
Happy birthday to our Pres, who turned 60 this week. Hope you had a good one Frank.
Next weeks speaker will be Bill Sebert From Payne Weber.
Wanna hear some good gossip - Carol Sommer will be skinny dipping at a Bar called "The Aquarium" on Friday Nights. She needs the extra money and she thinks it will be a whale of a good time. She doesn't realize the fishy characters she will be coming in contact with. I heard there was a bunch of lone sharks that hang around the place. Oh well! Go for it Carol. If this doesn't work you can always be a Go-Go Dancer. Do they still have those?
Now words to live by:
A word to the wise: if you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before.
A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory
Till next time Lois L. Lane
