THE PRICE HILL / WESTERN HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN - July 31, 2001

The day started as any other but then I realized it was that day that Tuesday when for all we have to do nothing is as important as, as, as THE MEETING. IT'S KIWANIS TUESDAY!! YEA!!!!!! ON KIWANIS, ON KIWANIS . . . Sounds better on paper, don't it.

Well today was great with 41 of the members joining in as Frank St. Charles called the meeting to order and requesting that Maestro Tom White play the opening song. And, today Tom had time to finish eating before the bell was rung.

The song and pledge finished Gene Simpkins gave the invocation straight from the heart, wonderful and thanks Gene.

Frank asks that you all attend the next Board meeting on the 8th of August at West Park 8pm.

Guests Gary Becker announced #1 Ford salesman in Cincy - Jimmy Hoffman from Walt Sweeney.

On the sick list Bud Gramkey, friend of Gary Becker keep in prayers as he rushed to Cleveland clinic with heart attack.

Tom Reuter spoke of his recent surgery. This was Tom's first day out since the surgery and he is doing pretty good. Tom had another radical surgery on the left side. Found there were Two tumors, one benign one cancer. The Drs. Feel that all was got out and they will check out Tom's nose for any further signs of cancer when he is more healed from present surgery. We all are thankful that things are going well for you Tom. We'll keep you in our prayers along with Jane so that you will have a speedy recovery and a return to a normal routine.

Gene Simpkins awarded the GOOD EGG of the Day Award. Today it went to the Earl of Ostertag for his tireless work on the weekly bulletin. So Frank asks that we all congratulate the Egg Head of the day, Big Earl O. Congrats Big Fella!

Well you heard it here first gang; Tim Hornsby is again to be a dad, this time in March. Congratulations Tim it truly is wonderful.

Glad Hand this week goes to Jane Reuter. Well deserved Jane!

Now for the piece d'risistance Ed and Walt led us in song "On Kiwanis" and Smile and everyone did when we were done. And then Ed looked to me and said "we sounded like *!ap". OH WELL. . . when its for free whata'ya gonna do.

Carol Sohmer then introduced Raymond Fuller, The Outreach and Education Specialist from The Ohio Consumers Council.

Ray talked on the recourse that we have for nuisance calls and fraud in Ohio. Ray gave a good and informative talk. If you weren't here you should have been.

Well that's all for now folks. Hope to see you next TUESDAY for lunch and for the Board Meeting on Wednesday the 8th please note that in three weeks there will be a discussion on Dues at the Tuesday lunch meeting the 21st of August.
