Our meeting opened to a crowd of 34 member and guests. Tom Reiring gave the invocation and the meeting was off and running.
Back again was Gene Simpkins and Cliff Franklin. It is always great to see this two make the meetings. Also in attendance was our newest member Jimmy Hoffman, great to see him as well. We also had prospective new member Allen Lasondro in attendance with application in hand. Congratulations to Jane Reuter and the Membership committee for all their hard work.
We also had quite a few guests on hand. Dan Kipp had some high ranking officials for his California Club with us today. Richard "Dick" Anderson is the Lt. Gov. of the California District and Melody is the Secretary of the District. Dan also had his lovely wife Esther with him.
Sandy Flick continues to be the only member on the sick list. Sandy had her foot operated on (see last weeks bulletin for the reason). Sandy continues to keep her foot elevated for another week. Bob Rinear removed his name for the Injured Reserve list by having his cast on this leg removed. Also, Tom Reuter is looking and sounding great.
The final numbers from the Rose Bloom Boom are in and look very good. Another "Job Well Done" to Bob, Sandy, Ed Flick and everybody who helped make this years event a great success.
Now lets make our weekly meetings even better! One way to accomplish this was presented by Jane Reuter.
The Membership committee:
We Desperately need about five more people at every meeting eating and paying for meals!!
Here's how we propose to do just that. Every week each member will take the time to call the member above them and the member below them in our Kiwanis Yearbook and tell them how important it is that they show up on Tuesday.
Now, if you get a call, contact has been made so you only have to make one call. If you get a call from both of the people above and below you, you're home free that week and no call is necessary on your part, but you owe them the courtesy of a call next week!
Husbands and wives do not have to call each other. (unless your name is Schroeder) Let's try this simple experiment for at least a month, if it works, we'll make it permanent.
Please complete you calls by 9:00 P.M. Monday evening.

Congratulators goes out to John Nordmeier for being selected to the Republican Party, 2001 Presidential Round Table Committee.
Third Reminder: The September 4th meeting will be dedicated to the Proposed dues increase. If you have any other ideas on how to increase administration funds for the club, bring up your ideas at that meeting.
