THE PRICE HILL / WESTERN HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN - September 4, 2001

Frank called to order, Tom played and we prayed with leadership from Greg Hartlaub. The meeting was off and running. Greg announced that he brought in the written skit that was performed a couple of weeks back and if you enjoyed it the copies are for the taking and looks like all were gone. Call Greg if you missed it or would just like to share it with family and friends.

No guests this week but the turn out was pretty good. Although not all of us made the telephone calls as we were asked. Remember in the Kiwanis book, the member list; call the person before and after your name by 9pm Monday before the meeting. So it looks like Dan Kipp's suggestion is working. Call the members get them to the meeting.

Speaking of Dan those of you at last weeks meeting were given the news that Dan may have pelvic cancer. He is in some pain and would really like to here from you. Give Dan a call be supportive and help brighten his day. And remember to keep him in your prayers.

Bob Rinear is having the final board meeting at his home on Wednesday Sept 19th looks like 20 people held up their hands should be a good meeting. More on time etc will be given at next meetings.

John Nordmeyer up next spoke on the fact that on the internet there is an interview with God, look it up its good. John reported Ace Becker carried him and his wife in the Santa Maria golf outing. The winners were six under Ace et.al. were six over.

Tom Reuter spoke next and had the old good news bad news thing going. Good news no cancer in head, neck or nose. Bad news he found a lump under his left arm and it has got to go. Good news it may be benign. So more prayers for good luck and quick recoveries for all.

Kevin Kahny is again entering the walk for Juvenile Diabetes the team is known as Drew's Crew. Kevin is asking for sponsor ship in the form of donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. His goal is to raise $5,000 so if you can make out a check to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and forward to Kevin at Kahny Printing, Inc. 3810 Glenway Ave. Cinti, OH 45205.

Glad hands went to Judy Jennison, Wally Flender and Kevin Kahny. Split the pot was had by Tom Reuter.

Next, the non-program program or the discussion of the Board's proposal to increase Dues and reduce meal cost to attendees. The net result is an increase in administrative funds of approximately $1900 per year.

Frank asked for all to have ideas on increasing Admin revenue if they did not like the dues idea. There was a long discussion on the cause where and why but not much on solution.

The short version the proposal went down, 8 for & 25 against. So how about coming to the next Board Meeting and bringing some workable ideas on a solution. And if you're curious as to why I don't go into more detail on the meeting. Well you should have been there that's why!

I'm sorry for the delay in the bulletin; it's my fault I've been out of town so it's late.

I wont' see you Tuesday in a meeting again but be there any way

Walt L.
