Here we are at the old lunch hole with Frank St. Charles calling order for the almost last time. We have a great turnout today with 35 members present. Tom White led us in song, pledge and prayer to begin the meeting.
We have guests today Al Wageman brought by Guy Langenbrunner. And Kathy Raaker intro by Joe Schrage sponsor by Judy Jennison and ready to join. For those of you who don't remember Kathy was a member approximately nine years ago before leaving the country. And then there's Earl (I'm really not here) Oakes now actually leaving not to return until next April.
Earl Ostertag has invoices available for those who need them as dues are due now for Oct 1st. Get them in so we can keep on rockin'. Dues are $110.00 per year.
Dr Klotte presented two ideas for admin fund help. With an unidentified person suggesting we charge for telling jokes, $1.00 for a good one and $2.00 for a bad one. This week Gene Simpkins would have been charge $135 if it was in effect!! Oh! Just joking Gene.
Speaking of Gene we have the GOOD EGG award going to Howard Zollner this week. Congrats Howard.
On the sick list we have Dan Kipp who is in need of our prayers and support along with Tom Reuter who is to undergo Chemo for the tumors under each arm. Hang in there guys we'll get you through. By the way Dan would like to get calls from as many of the Kiwanians as can so get out your book and call Dan.
Our board meeting is at Bob Rinear's this week and it promises to be a good'n Tom Bruening volunteered next months Boadrd meeting at his home. Bob announced that all the Thank Yous for RBB have been senbt out. Bill Bigner again topped the highest sales list with 34 tickets sold.
Tina McGary says high to all and that she is feeling good.
Loose(Lou) Schroeder is chairing an auction to ad funds to the kitty. Lou needs you to give good stuff to him and get good stuff from the local businesses so we can have an auction with proceeds to go to fund raising for the club. Great idea Lou GO, GO, GO! Call Lou if you can help.
Also along fund raising lines we are implementing the GUMBALL Program. We need for each of you to get at least one location for a gumball/candy machine whose net proceeds will come to us. We have to do nothing but get locations for these machines. Our sponsorship will be shown on the machine with proceeds coming to us. We will receive monthly reports on the effectiveness of the machines and an accounting of the proceeds of each. WE DO NOTHING BUT GET LOCATIONS! This can bring in a couple hundred dollars a month if ALL of us participate. So call you business buddies, get them to agree, call someone new and get them to agree. If you're a member and can place one in your business then let us know we'll have H&R stop and make sure it is a good site. Call me with the information 922-9419 or 451-5566 or bring it to the meeting on Tuesday. I'll be asking at the meeting for the names. Thanks
Jane Reuter was the program this week with the results of the evaluation forms we filled out several months ago. Please go over them it does show where we can strengthen our club and make it more enjoyable to be a member of this great club.
Well I'm done writing this week. If you have questions see me at the meeting, call me on the phone, And E-mail Me OK. (waluthy@fuse.net)
Thanks!
